what actually changed in this dependency before I bump it

the bot opens the pr, the changelog says "bug fixes and improvements", and the diff is 4000 lines of build output. so either I read it properly and lose an afternoon or I merge it and hope, and we all know which one happens on a friday. just want the bit that matters. did any exported api change, did it pick up a new dependency, did it start making network calls, did the install scripts change.
